I've come to be absolutely obsessed with Pinterest! ( http://pinterest.com/all/ )For those of you who may not know what it is, it's basically an only bulletin board that you can "pin" things you like on line, or things from other people's boards. In short, Its amazing and I now have a list way too long of things i want to make or build or style. Sigh, it's love!

I can't believe how fast time has gone by. I still remember the first few weeks after Ava was born feeling like she was going to be that small forever (and not fitting into any of her clothes) and here we are, Jan 5, 2011. Ava is 4 Months Old! WOW!

She is absolutely the best thing in my life! I fall deeper and more in love with her everyday! Everyday it seems like she does something new and different. I love it! I love that she looks at me and give me a HUGE grin. Oh Ava, you are the bees knees!

This past weekend, I bought this playpen from my cousin. I wasn't sure how much Ava would like it, but thankfully, she LOVES IT! I put her in and put the mobile on and she looked up at it and started to smile and chatter to it. It was so sweet! So happy that we bought and so happy that Ava loves it! :)

I went to Walmart today and thought I'd take a chance and see if there were any "mom" parking spots. I struck gold and found one and as I was pulling into it, it hit me. I'm a MOM. I know, this sounds silly! I know I'm a mom and I'm reminded every second of the day. But parking in the "mom" spot was really just a moment that hit me. It was great! And extra great that I got to park super close to the store door! :)

Since Ava is STILL sleeping (we're going on almost 5 hours now.. WOW!) I thought I'd post a quick picture from last night. The New Chair

After going back and forth... and back and forth, we finally decided that instead of a rocker/glider for the nursery, we'd get a recliner. I had originally wanted a fabric one since all our sitting furniture seems to be leather these days. But once we went to pick one out, I sat in this one and fell in love. It's SO soft and just hugs you! :) And lets be honest, leather will be easier to clean any liquid spills that Ava might leave!

So happy with it! We put it in the living room, so that way if we're up late with her we can at least entertain ourselves with the TV!

So... now all we need is Ava. Ready when you are kid!!

Adam & I (& Boo too) took a day trip to Jasper on Saturday. It was so much fun! Beautiful weather and just a really nice adventure. We went to Maligne Lake to check it out, since neither of us had been there before. Of course I had to go to the gift shop to pick up a magnet - we get one from every place we visit. I saw these little P.J.'s and couldn't help myself! Can't wait to see Ava in these! :)

Wow, I am so in love with my daughter... and wow... I don't say that very often! :) On Sunday, we went and had our 3D ultrasound. it was so much fun! My Mom, Dad & Heather were there from my side of the family. And both Adam's parents, Alissa & Jason were there as well. We were all crammed into the little room that had seating for almost everyone and we saw on the Big Flat screen Miss Ava!

It was so amazing to see her! And to think, that is pretty much what she will look like! gets me all choked up! It was amazing to see that she had a little personality already. She kept putting her arm, leg, hand - in front of her face and then when the tech would push on my belly to try and get her to move, she'd move her hand arm a little but then she'd have this pouting, angry face! At one point, she moved her face and did the whole "talk to the hand". Oh man, we're in trouble! But we did get a few smiles and some kissy faces. And we got a full view of her... business and we know for sure that she is a she. Poor, so violated! :)

Where we went, we got a CD of over a 100 pictures and a DVD. Love it! Here are a few of my favor pictures. Enjoy!

Baby Fleece

A few years ago I started making these fleece blankets for a few of my friends and for some of thier kids - with their names on it. A few weeks ago it hit me that I will soon have my OWN kid and that I'll be needing to make a blanket. What a crazy thought! So out mom and I went and we picked out the softest fleece ever and here is the end result!
Boo is so funny! She totally thinks this is her blanket. I had taken it up to show Adam and she jumped on it right away, then jumped off, went and got one of her toys and then jumped back on. lol I keep telling her it's Ava's, but I'm sure she's thinking who/what is this Ava they keep talking about! :)

I have no idea if these little baby updates are lame or not, but since there isn't much else going on in my life these days, lol, this is all I got! :) We decided not to do a change table, but just a dresser with a change pad on top. (we haven't gotten the pad yet) But here is the dress and I decided to spruce it up with fancy knobs! I love them! My Friend Heather (who I used to work with at Access) Came over today for a visit with her daughter Amelia. It was so good to see her after... a really long time and to finally meet her little girl. Amelia is so sweet and just the happiest baby I've seen in a long time!

On Top of having a great visit, Heather brought me 2 HUGE boxes full of clothes! I am so excited to try all these great things out when Ava gets here!

Best Mother's Day Gift!!

Happy Mother's Day!!!! It's crazy to think of myself as a Mother already... Ava is not here, here, but I suppose I am, and it makes me a little giddy! :)

Today after stopping in to see my mom, we went over to see Momma Jongsma. It was a nice little visit and we gave her the card we had for her and little did I know, they had something for me. She (with Alissa's help) won the above photo session at a silent auction last night. I was/am SO EXCITED!!!! I had been telling Adam that I totally wanted to get these early baby pictures taken of Ava and here Evelyn and Alissa knew I'd love it and got it for me!

New Light For Miss Ava

The day we found out we were having Ava, I decided that I NEEDED to buy something girlie right away. I had come across this web site http://www.etsy.com/shop/DillyBaby for neat hand made baby things and fell in love with their Changing Case Set. The Case holds a travel wipe case and 2 diapers and in the back is a changing pad. I just love it!! So glad I got it!!

I bought our Stroller today! It's funny how exciting buying things for Ava is! I had seen this stroller before but wasn't sure what I should be looking for or if it was a good one. I was down visiting Kala this week and her and I went to Sear and she said it was a great one! So I bought it! :)

I just love the colour and the style and it's so easy to use!

I'm sure all of you know that Adam and I were set up on a Blind Date. Well last Friday I tagged along and went to "work" with Adam. Well really it was a lot of driving a round looking at up coming Job sites and that kind of thing. Anyways, one of the place we went happened to be right by the house he was working on when he got the call from his then boss with my info.

We (or should I say Ava) have been so spoiled lately!! When we were in Arkansas, we got a few super cute gifts. A few adorable dresses from Krista & Jess, the cutest socks - that look like little shoes from Adrienne and a sweet little Easter Bunny from Momma Kirksey. They are just so great! Can't wait to put Ava in them!! I couldn't help myself while we were down there, and bought a Sundress and onesie combo and a onesie that says " I love Daddy" :)

Then when we got back, I went to Saskatoon to visit my friend Mel and she bought these cute little onesies (and guessed ahead of time that we were having a girl) And then I of course had to buy something and saw these little shoes and just had too! Makes me think of Adam and his rock band! ;)

FINALLY!!!! We got all the frames and all the pictures together and hung them on the wall! Looks so much better then it did before! Adam was so cute, after we hung them (or rather, he hung them and I kept saying "a little the left, a little higher, no lower...") Adam said that he feels very grown up with having art work in the house and art work that I (and 2 others) took! I love that I'm not the only one who has these grown up moments! :)

Woo hoo, I'm 4 months along already! So happy! Starting to look more prego then... chubby, which, lets be honest is what we all want! :) My next Ultrasound is on Monday, March 29th! Adam and I are counting down the days! lol. Cna't wait to see baby again and HOPEFULLY see who's in there! It'll be so great to put a name to it and just bond tighter!!!

had my first doctor appointment today with my new doctor and it went so well. She is so nice! I got to hear the baby's heart beat for the first time and that was so amazing! It was beating 158 bpm. So fast! :) I'm just so happy!!

This year was a great Birthday! Friday (day before my birthday) we went to my parents house for a family dinner, then Saturday, my sisters and I went and had pedicures done and then later Adam and I went out for dinner. Sunday evening we went over to Adam's parents house for dinner there! A whole weekend of Birthday! loved it!!!

These wonderful cupcakes were made by my friend Emily! And my Sisters decorated my yummy cake!

My Mom made me a picture colleague of pictures of me from baby to now. LOVED IT!!! Ruth's boyfriend Mike bought me flowers! He totally got 10 points for those!

Well friends, that wonderful time of life has come. I've decided that since I'm turning 29 in a few weeks that it's about time that I start dealing with the fact that I'm getting older. Yes I know, you'd think all the grey hair that I've been trying to hide for years would have been a tell tale sigh. I had begun to use night cream a while back and even that felt weird, but I thought it was the grown up thing to do! The other day I was running low on all my face creams so off to the store I went. I was grabbing some night cream when I saw this age defiying kind and though, why not. then I looked over and saw the Total Effects line and thought to myself, "self... it's all or nothing! Either jump in with both feet or don't even change a thing!" As you can see, I jumped! AGING.... HERE I COME!

Thought I'd post a few of my favorite gifts from this Christmas. First let me say that this Christmas was AWESOME!! Not only did we all get fantastic gifts, but just the visiting and seeing everyone was so great!!

So allow me to explain the above gifts!

Heather (my sister) bought Boo this mouse and SHE LOVES IT!!
My brother Kyle gave me this super starbucks mug, it rocks!
My friend Mel took a pottery class and made this bowl, I LOVE IT! It's so unique and well fantastic!
She also made this mug. Isn't she great?
Kala gave me a whole bag full of goodies and they are all so super! I love this blanket! It's the perfect size and really heavy!

Honestly, how did I go so long without having this awesome Tupperware Bowl? I mean seriously!! I just bought it and it's the Thatsa Bowl and I love it! I made some of my favorite Craisin cookies today and used the bowl for the first time... and it was splendid! Nice and deep! And just words can express how much love I have for this ruby red bowl! :)

Cleaning is Good for the Soul

I decided that enough was enough! I had to clean up my closet! When we moved into the house, Adam and I had a deal. He got the dresser and I got the walk-in closet. Who knew that it was so hard to keep a closet neat and organized! I wish I had taken a picture of it before I pulled everything out... however, the HUGE pile on the floor... that was all on the floor of the closet! Brutal!

So I realized that most of what was in the closet was either summer clothes or clothes that I dont' ware or are too small. So i started making piles!

In the end, I had 4 bags of unwanted clothes AND got ride of 5 pairs of shoes! I must say, I am so proud of myself! :)

And look how pretty it is now!!

Since I have no kids of my own, Boo is the lucky replacement of my photo shoots! I just took her to get a hair cut and I thought I'd post some before an afters. Dang, I think she is the cutest thing ever! :)

My sister-in-law is involved as a Youth Leader at her church and she was asked to carve a "few" pumpkins for the Youth Halloween Party this weekend. She asked if I wouldn't mind helping. SURE.. lol ya... there were 13 to carve!

We had a blast! And it didn't take too long at all! :) We carved the verse "Be of the world, not of the world. John 17:16" Adam did a great job of actually carving the letters and well, we had fun gutting and writing the words!

I have more Grey hair then I can count on 2 hands
I now need coffee everyday to get a kick start to the day
Sadly, I mix fibber cereal with my cheerio’s. Something I remember my granny doing when I was a kid and thinking was the grosses thing in the world
I find my yoga pants the most comfortable thing to wear... could it be the stretchy waist band?
Starting to notice a few extra lines on my face... great! Seeing teenagers in the mall makes me annoyed
I Don’t really like the music played on the “popular” radio station anymore
I’m turning 29 in a few months...
My mom is one of my favorite ppl
I'm taking so many herbs and vitamins that its like a small meal
Not a fan of loud noises... makes me edgy & cranky
Some days I’m too stiff and achy to get out of bed
When looking for a movie to watch, I find myself saying “oh, that’s a great one, I saw that one in High School....” and feel like it was yesterday... not 10 years ago!
I enjoy quilting
I have friendship older than 14 years and I meet them when I was 14!

I was doing some much needed scrapbooking today when I started to look back at some of my old pages. I came across these that I did of my sisters and I. It made me all teary! :) I love how I USED to be the tallest and slowly but surly, I'm not the shortest! I love my sisters so much and even though I may not say it all the time, they mean the world to me!!

Oh Easy Rock, How I love you!!

Holy Cow!!! I just won $500 from Easy Rocks Play at Work contest!!! I'm shaking!!

Ok, this is the craziest story! The contest goes like this: Enter your name and where you work and then listen at 9:10am, 1:10pm & 4:10pm every week day and if they call your name you have 10 mins to call in. Then they will open an envelope with either $250, $500 or $1000. Now I listen to this station while I'm at work, BUT I only work Mon-Wed from 9-2. So that leaves a lot of times when I'm not listening.

Today I remembered to listen only at the 1:10pm time.. not my name. So this afternoon, I'm on the phone with my friend Krista and i get a beep and I look at the caller ID and it says Government of Alberta. I had no idea who'd be calling from there so I let it go to voice mail. I get off the phone ironically right away and then check the message. This is what it said... "HI, you don't know me, but I just heard your name being called on easy rock and you only have about 2 mins to call them back. Hope this helps!" Holy Cow! My heart started to race. I had put their number into my phone to in case, so I grabbed my phone and called in as fast as I could and..... the DJ said I made it JUST IN TIME!!!! He ripped the enveloped open and i got $500!!!! I've never won anything before, let alone on the radio! Oh my goodness!! I'm so freaking excited! lol

A BIG shout out to whoever that wonderful lady was that called to let me know that my name was called!!!!!!

There is something about baking cookies. A feeling of accomplishment, the smell of either success... lol or failure! These cookies are my all time favorite - Jumbo Raisin cookies. I loved it when my mom would makes these! mmmm Ruth hated raisins, so all the more for me! hehehe. I've changed the recipe a little and used craisins instead. DELICIOUS!!!
